Diversity Photos

Better representation in media and technology

Diversity Photos was built for better representation in media and technology. Finding authentic, positive imagery that truly reflected the diversity of the real world was nearly impossible. Stock media perpetuated narrow stereotypes and failed to represent people of color and underrepresented communities with dignity and authenticity. So we built Diversity Photos to change that — a platform where creators produce and share imagery that reflects the world as it actually is. The platform has since become central to a landmark arbitration with Adobe over unauthorized AI training on creator content, turning a representation mission into a fight for creator rights.

The Problem

Authentic, positive imagery reflecting the diversity of our world was nearly impossible to find. Stock media perpetuated narrow stereotypes and failed to represent people of color with dignity.

The Approach

Built a curated platform for authentic, diverse stock media with explicit licensing and creator protections. When Adobe trained AI models on this content without authorization, we pursued arbitration to set a precedent for creator rights.
